Paalkova / Milk Fudge / Milk Halwa - Easy Microwave Method

Paalkova is a milk fudge traditionally done with milk and Sugar. This recipe is a quick version of traditional paalkova. It is done in microwave in 4 minutes with just 2 ingredients. Condensed Milk and Yogurt.

Yesterday I posted a recipe for microwave coconut burfi. I was talking to my sister today and she asked me to post this microwave paalkova recipe. This recipe has an interesting story behind.

It was in 1999 or in 2000, my neighbour aunty bought a new microwave. That was the first time ever I saw a microwave. They invited us to show the demo of its uses. Our Neighbour aunty prepared this instant paalkova using condensed milk. It was done in few minutes and tasted delicious. It was amazing to see that such a time consuming dish can be done quickly in microwave. Guess what, after that demo we returned home , discussed and decided that we also need a microwave at home :)

Immediate request was placed and my father approved it only after two months. And we had a new microwave at home. Me and my sister were so much thrilled. We rushed to the shop and bought 3 condensed milk tins and paalkova was the first dish we tried in our new microwave. And microwave paalkova was our instant dessert to make when we had sudden guests at home.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Condensed Milk
  • 1 Teaspoon Plain Yogurt / Curd

Directions :

1. In a microwave safe bowl add condensed milk and curd and mix well. Condensed milk mixture raises pretty high. So you need to have a bigger size bowl

2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes

3. Remove from microwave and give it a nice stir

4. Return the bowl to microwave on high for 2 more minutes. Stop microwave at every 15 second and stir at every 30 seconds

5. By the end of total 4 minutes, the condensed milk will become thick mass and you will find it difficult to stir. At this stage , the fudge is ready

6. Cool completely and serve
